About

In this digital age, technology has brought a lot of benefits to the world, especially regarding communication. Direct publishing, blogging, microblogging, and social media platforms have all vastly increased the amount of communication happening among people. Yet, this metamorphosis has also brought some challenges with it, the primary one being that of decentralization. While, ironically, it was very beneficial in “democratizing” communication and publishing, it simultaneously was culpable in making the enforcement of quality more difficult.

Although the accompanying advent of tools such as spellcheckers, grammar checkers, and proofreading tools has alleviated this problem to a large extent, there are still some noticeable areas where these tools are lacking. This website aims to fill in the gaps by being a resource for speakers, writers, and otherwise language users of all kinds. We hope supplementing it, along with the tools above, helps to make anyone a more effective communicator regardless of the context or content.

This website primarily has an Indian reader in mind, where any topic that intersects with English or its usage could be covered (e.g., where Indic languages interact with English). Nevertheless, most of the topics covered are applicable to any English speaker around the world who is looking to better their language skills. Hence the name: Better Language. Welcome.
